In 1986, California voters approved Proposition 65, an initiative to address their growing concerns about exposure to toxic chemicals. That initiative, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires the State of California to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer and/or reproductive toxicity. The regulation also requires companies who conduct business operations in California to provide warnings when they knowingly expose residents to listed chemicals that may be above safe harbor levels.
Currently; the Prop 65 listing recognizes more than 900 chemicals that are applicable to this designation. However; Prop 65 does not ban or restrict the sale or use of chemicals on the list, but rather is intended to help Californians and residents of other states make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals from the products they use or encounter on a normal basis.
Please note: that Grizzly may utilize in production, or distribute products that have come in contact with substances which are known by the state of California (through Prop 65) to cause cancer and/or reproductive toxicity. As such, Grizzly is providing the following warning:
WARNING:
These products can expose you to chemicals that include toluene and/or benzene, which are known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and/or other reproductive harm.
Grizzly takes steps to ensure these hazards do not reach the end user or customer including draining units of oils and fluids before shipment. Grizzly also relies on original manufacturer labeling for vendor products which necessitate a Prop 65 warning. As a company we are committed to transparency regarding these products and will, when officially requested, provide SDS, packaging, and/or vendor information regarding products in question. Further information concerning the health effects of listed chemicals, as well as ways to reduce or eliminate exposure to them, can be found at The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment’s (OEHHA) Proposition 65 warnings website (www.P65Warnings.ca.gov).
